LOve is a powerful emotion, perhaps the strongest of human emotions. People will go to great lengths to express love, and they will do almost anything to get love. According to the great writer C. S. Lewis he identified four different kinds of love, all but one of which are basically self-centered. First, there's affection, which is the kind of love we can have for something other than people, such as a dog or a home or a car. Then there's friendship, a valuable love in the sense that it's the basis of most human relationships. And there's erotic love, which is beautiful between a husband and wife but a mess outside of married love. All of these are wonderful and necessary loves, but each of them depends on the object of our affection for complete fulfilment. The only love that is completely other -centered is called agape love. This is love of the highest order. It's what Lewis called "Divine Gift-Love". When we love with agape love we desire the best for the people we love. We are even able to love those who are unlovable. Love to see and read articles that the readers can relate .
You're right. Just as there are different colors, tones and brightness ratios of light, love also has different shades and dimensions. Like the 7 colors of the rainbow... In fact, each type of love teaches us another dimension of love. We cannot accept one and reject the other. By experiencing every type of love, we actually have the opportunity to learn the essence of love above all. We understand that the colors of the rainbow are actually formed as a result of the refraction of light and therefore appear in different colors to our eyes. Both light and love come from the source and we can perceive it in different colors. Perhaps God's love and light are perceived in different colors in different dimensions. Or perhaps we need refractions until we can accept more of pure divine light and love. Your comment has helped me to open up more about love. Thank you. I know that as we think, talk about love, open ourselves to love, we are helping the world to manifest more of love. We have the potential to love everyone in the world, starting with those close to us, to the level that we can love all of God's creation. Love, respect and greetings.
