A (since awkward) self-aware introduction to tstn (formerly to read cash)

This was a long time coming, but I'm finally on read cash. And not that you were waiting, but it sounded nice to me to read that.

To explain the title, l was originally going to start my article, with,

"l like things meta, so l decided that my first article was going to be about how l registered on read cash."...

This plan has since fallen through, and l will get to that later, but l will pepper this article with parts that l am able to salvage from writing on my notebook.

But with a little further ado:

Hello there, l am tstn, and I've been on noise.cash for a while now, and while most people started here on read.cash, as far as l have read, l have done the reverse.

I am keeping the same persona (kinda) on here as my noise persona, and fingers crossed, hope l got the same robot head avatar.

At this point l decided to copy my draft on telegram just in case l click on something and there's no autosave there. (Oh, wait, gotta copy my title, too!)

A (since awkward) self-aware introduction to tstn (formerly to read cash)

I went back to the browser, found the menu hamburger, clicked on "My Articles", and was greeted by this screen:

The timer for how long l was a member for adds a little pressure, but the automatic thumbs up was quite encouraging.

Ok, so we didn't get the same robot head as the noise one.

Here it is, albeit with laser eyes.

I have since lost the screenshot of the original.

People with keen observation skills (but maybe not necessarily psychometry, those who traditionally worked as mediums for seances), will be able to tell from the picture that l am a btc hodler with an open mind for bch (aka a greedy person).

To overlap with some of my notes for my originally-intended article, this was the straw that broke the camel's back (aka the final straw):

Finding out about that, as opposed to something l recall a friend telling me (that there were no revovling tips here), l decided to move some of my writings here (yes, dollar sign eyeballs and all).

I know that people on noise want to complain about my long-winded replies, but they're just nice people.

(Or maybe, "nice ESL people", that is when ESL people say nice things to you in English, but exclaim something not as nice using their first language under their breath)

*Stops typing to take a screenshot of my noise profile picture*

I took a lot of screenshots for this article (something l don't do for noise) because of my original plan to guide people on how to register here (l still think a definitive guide is needed, someone please point me to an onboarding guide if there is one, or please give me permission to write an onboarding guide, if you feel like you might need one when for example, explaining how to register to read cash to your "friends" aka your parents and grandparents who you want to upvote your posts legally--l can type out a plain English guide for those who want).

I've basically run out of things to say to introduce myself, so imma take another peep at my notes to see what else l can grab.

Oh, yeah, when l started writing, l was on a page where the number was something l kind of have a phobia for, and sadly, the phobia wasn't wrong for making me feel like something would go wrong, and it did.

But no matter, we're in this article now.

I found out about read cash from noise, and l really truly found out about read cash from user Eybyoung whose username l remembered incorrectly here:

But here she is, and she's written a lot, and her story is inspiring so check her out.

The first result was a post written about her!

I also had to go back to noise first:

you get this really nice splash screen if you install it as a web app

And here is the read cash web app splash screen.

You install it by clicking this or its equivalent on the browser, and choosing to install as app.
See the two cash icons looking great side by side.

While visiting noise l encouraged someone to start a web novel here on read cash.

By the way, there is a typo on the read cash FAQ, see if you can also find, "waller".

The rule on name-calling reminded me of people who felt like they were being censored for their "controversial" (aka what people who are wrong like to call their) views, but lacked the self-awareness to notice that they were cussing out others, and calling them insults that would turn your face red when directed at you in their posts.

Fees for bch transactions staying under 1 cent reminded me of the time when l got my feet wet with defi, and promptly lost my bnb (a story for another time), for the bch equivalent, look up smartbch (known formerly as "moeing").

The guide said to keep only around $5-$10 in your wallet, but the onboarding message said $10-20, and that's what l call progress!

In case you weren't aware, I'm already scraping from the guide l typed for how to get started on read cash at this point, sharing my thoughts on the process without writing about read cash per se.

Since you can convert your read cash earnings, read cash is essentially a dex (decentralized exchange) platform, as well, which l read about on publish0x. I was supposed to write my publish0x post on staking to get wax for free on atomic hub, which was originally supposed to be about the blockchain and the akashic record[sic], but l digress, as usual.

I read the article on help with using the editor here, which is tons better than the publish0x one (the editor), based on my experience, and that's evidence that I'm one of those types who do RTFM, oh and l noticed that the editor guide was filed under, "Romantic and love"(!)

Well ain't that cute...

Here's what was left of my draft, by the way, when l got back to it.

...but it's wrong!

Ok, it was at this point in my original article when l found out that read.cash discourages talking about the site, and so l had to change my article when the original draft was nearly done.

(Ok, now google recursion)

This image is not meant to be helpful.

That's about it for my admittedly long introduction, and here's to hoping l would write shorter replies on noise, and if you know me from there, let me know about some topics you might want to get the "tstn treatment" since l haven't decided on a focus yet.

I hope you had fun clicking on the links, and learning (if you didn't already know about those things).

If you got this far, you have my gratitude, and do keep in touch!
