I think they are afraid that their BTC will become worthless when the price of Bitcoin Cash will rise. I have seen that the attacks on Bitcoin Cash have decreased when the BCH/BTC ratio for BCH deteriorated. The ratio is now improving again in favour of BCH, so I think attacks will increase again.
