Lessons from Regret: Launching New Substack Publication

I have a selfish desire: To help people for my self-serving agenda, to make use of my lessons from mistakes, failures, and regrets, and somehow convince myself they had meaning. It makes them more bearable that way… almost justifies them. **Announcement** So, I’m launching a new publication separate from the philosophical entanglements ofBonds of Prometheus. https://sotiris.substack.com/ The name of this new publication is**Lessons from Regret**, and it will be just that: lessons from failures, lessons from regrets, lessons that won’t get another opportunity to be applied… no second chance to use what I’ve learned. Ironically, these lessons, doomed to never be applied, are the lessons assimilated the deepest, and which carry the most insight. https://lessonsfromregret.substack.com/ With one self-improvement topic at a time, you’ll get a chance to benefit from priceless insight gained through harsh struggles that others have endured, without having to go through the same struggles yourself. But what I write isn’t for everyone. Indeed, popularity is an indication of low quality. We see what the masses go ecstatic over. We see the nonsense they cheer for, and what they value in their idols: snark, arrogance, bravado, and classless sensationalism. I’m fine not being popular. But I do want to reach more people, more of the discerning ones. The more people I help, the more**my lessons from regret become bearable**. I want to help more people… for my own selfish reasons. **Why a new publication** To avoid diluting the content of Bonds of Prometheus, to which people subscribe for philosophy and voluntaryism, and everything in between. A paid publication is the only way to get that Substack bestseller badge. Appeals to authority matter, unfortunately. Paid-only posts will likely get me boosted as an author on Substack, which means more exposure for my free main publication, Bonds of Prometheus. I’ll keep Bonds of Prometheus free, always. People value more what they pay for. If I give you the best book in the world for free, it’ll collect dust. If you pay for it, you’ll read it sooner or later, and probably appreciate it more.
