my lesson learned on the new rewards system in Splinterlands is: "do not get high on the cheap rental costs!" -Last season I pushed my collection power to Gold League for a limited time and thus I gain gold chests this season. Cool, but downside is: They are wayyy harder to attain, especially when you get your focus points in Bronze League after the seasonal setback. @cpol already pointed that one out to me, but it was too late by then. Hope one might find this short notice useful!

It will get better as you climb the ranking the first days are the hardest to earn chest. Pushing it too far at the end of the season will indeed backfire though. I had diamond chests last season but opted to stay in gold this season. My strategy now is to alternate between these each season, this way when earning Gold chests I can really push like crazy at the end in Diamond and when getting diamond chests I still get enough of them with better rewards having better win-rate near the end of the season.
