AMA from todays AMA on Satoshis Angels Telegram group with Kui Wang answering question on the smartBCH roadmap. 1) can we expect a trustless bridge to/from BCH/smartbch that doesn't rely on some party? Technically it is possible. Actually, in sha-gate, the BCH-to-smartBCH bridge is a trustless bridge because every smartBCH node checks BCH mainchain’s states. And smartBCH-to-BCH bridge can also be trustless if evry BCH node checks smartBCH sidechains’s states. Practically, I think it is very hard. 2) are there any plan to develop a trustless bridge for assets on other chains? Bridges between EVM chains cannot be trustless. However, with enclaves, we can make such bridges more secure and only need to trust CPU vendors. Overlooker is working on this direction. 3) are there any plans to enhance the smartbch EVM with the primitives needed to implement ZK computations? Not plans yet. So a subset of validators can be operators of sha-gate-v2. An operator must stake sBCH on smartBCH to become an operator. If the sha-gate bridge is broken, the operators also suffer. We the dev team is building a platform to the projects to grow. If the plat form is not so satisfying, people will leave. What can we do is to improve the platform instead of just crying.
