Im_username (bchbull) explains how trading permissionlessly will develop. It is incredibly exciting, it reminds me of Tesla in 2012, with tons of potential and high risk. Transcript below. Someone asks will there be other liquidity providers apart from BCHBULL? it's really a limitation of the script - transferability of contracts is possible but difficult to build around on BCH today, so marketmaking is correspondingly difficult to push to wider audiences. We're doing the marketmaking so we can have a usable product out earlier. We do realize it's very far from ideal - we could've just said "haha we'll just wait for cashtokens bro" but that'll be even less ideal to both our investors and BCH users. The retooling around cashtokens (which is huge step forward in capabilities) would be epic and can take quite a while, we're not gonna wait for that to launch and just blueball everyone. When cashtokens is activated and the appropriate tools are built around it (GP may even take part in much of that!) people will be able to permissionlessly make a contract against themselves with arbitrary parameters, then sell either side of the contract on open market to takers with floating prices just like in a traditional futures/options market. We see that as the ideal form of "marketmaking". Until then, we'll keep optimizing our own marketmaker, and there may even be some neat adhoc (albeit a lot less liquid) tools before that. Note the non-custodial, individually-siloed and fully-funded nature of BCHBull/Anyhedge is no less valid even while we improve on marketmaking mechanics based on the tools we have. 🙂
