Why does China have all the USA's best military technology? First we need to identify what technology you need to make a difference in modern warfare. The key to the superiority of a modern weaposn sytem, is not the weapon or its ammunition. It is the range of detection and the early launch of missiles and efficiency. So weapons payload superiority is useless if that plane is detected first. The USA has always led in early detection technology for planes and tanks since the 1980's having perfected miniaturisation of electronics. Allied countries weapons manufacturers have access to this technology e.g BAE Systems, MBDA Missile Systems, Rheinmetall Defence,Alenia Aeronautica,RAFAEL Advanced Defence Systems and Israel's IAI. If they pay the right price and obey export rules. For example they cannot sell advanced electronic systems to Russia or China. Israel sells laser targeting technology, missile technology, tactical satellite technology, aeorfoil design secrets, fire control radars,UAV technology to China and all of it US technology. There is now a news black out on this trade and the only reason can be US lobby power by pro Israeli lobby groups (AIPAC). Israel gets privileged status on top of all this, they do not pay the licencing fees to manufactue this technology that they then reverse engineer and sell to China. China is aggressively expanding its military footprint in the Pacific and it challenges US economic power through unfair economic practices including corporate espionage. Taiwan is a pro wetern democracy that defends western security and economic interests in the asia pacific region. Meanwhile Israel limits its contact with Taiwan to almost nothing for fear of upsetting China. Vice president Pence under Trump correctly called out all of the above about China without mentioning Israel.Why? He is a neoconservative supporter of Israel as are many in US politics. The US aggressively defends Israel on every foreign policy matter, heavily subsidizes the Israeli military and Israeli military industry but Israel feels no loyalty to the USA. A specific case study The LAVI fighter program. In the mid 1980's Israel wanted to produce a 4th gen tactical fighter aircraft heavily subsidized by the US. The reality was the LAVI was a virtual copy of Lockheeds F-16. The program was scrapped after 3 prototypes but the military technology in it was kept by Israel and in 2004 China released its 4th gen tactical fighter, the J10 an almost identical copy of the LAVI. The J10 is now in frontline service capable of detecting 6 enemy aircraft simultaneusly and interacting directly againt 4 of the 6 deemed most threatening. David Larry the General Directror for Israels ministry of defence finally admitted to the Associated Press that they had sold some technology to China. Thanks to Israel, China has revamped its naval fleet as well with fire control radar that extends its range to detect and enagage enemy aircraft and ships. In a report to congress Israel is second only to Russia as an arms provider to China. The then CIA chief R James Wolsey in 1993 was completely aware of this illegal trade between Israel and China for over 10 years. The USA does not even get to profit from selling it's technology directly to China because of the export ban instead giving it to Israel for free who then sell it. Just recently China warned of war with the US over islands in the South China seas. There are now moves to roll back the expansionist mode of China which has been bolstered by the Israeli supplied military technology but at what cost.
