Is it possible to download a bitcoin wallet by scanning a QR code? I am thinking of a situation where you give someone new to crypto a few dollars but they dont have a wallet. It would make the process seamless if they downloaded a wallet with a QR code and the doantion was already there.

As far as I know, is a direct download in the moment not possible. The QR code will lead you to the app in the app store/google play/ ... and then you have to download things manually. I understand the thoughts behind it and it makes sense. For me there is on the other hand also the question of security if you get apps just with a QR code.
Yes security is improtant but would be handy if you trusted the source.
