If you want to raise your children with your values never ever let them watch tv. An adult who has grown up watching tv, will have been exposed to false role models, false values, false judgements and subconscious biases he is not even aware of due to subtle background cues in most if not all programming. It is how you change or destroy a society without firing a shot.
