The 1300 year old Cheomseongdae Observatory (첨성대) near Gyeongju, South Korea. This ancient star-gazing platform is the oldest standing observatory in Asia and one of the oldest in the world. Gyeongju was the capital of the ancient Korean kingdom of Silla, which ruled over much of the Korean peninsula for close to 1000 years. I visited here in 2013 on a trip from Seoul to Busan. #Travel
