Good Day Guys
Let me share with you what happened during my day. before going to work I usually finish typing and when it hits 6:45 I get ready for work. After getting ready, I drove myself to work, I also picked up my workmate who was who asked if she could ride with me going to work. Driving to work was really smooth. I was able to park at a family friend's house. They're so kind that they still let me park there every day. We then walked to work and timed in. After timing in we were just waiting for the text of the doctors on what to do.
Finally, one doctor replied and told me to check if patient 1 has clearance and just do the same treatment for patient 2. I was waiting for the other doctor so I could just treat all my patients straight. But it hit 9 am already so I started getting ready to go up. I went to the highest floor and asked the nursing station if he was given the clearance. At first, I was confused until I read the metal chart. They gave him clearance for wheelchair rides though I saw that he had Whole Abdominal Ultrasound. So I deferred the patient and opted to go in the afternoon. I then went to patient 2. Patient 2 is like in a coma wherein it's really difficult to stimulate him. I just had to do range exercises on all his limbs to preserve his joint integrity and mobility. Our other doctor had no texts yet so I went downstairs to our department
Our doctor came and endorsed all the patients to me. One patient was deferred because he suddenly was manifesting neurological problems. There was also a new patient. I decided to go to patient 3 who was the new patient and that patient was really kind, she was a teacher before she retired. She's having problems with her upper back, her pain patterns are also unusual because it came from her lower back going to her upper back. I just did the management that the doctor wrote. She told me that she felt relieved after the treatment. I went to patient 4, despite having a stroke I'm surprised that she was strong. I was assessing her and she could do things independently, though I had to teach her how to use her cane and some exercises that would help with her balance. When her watcher came in, I was told that she was going to get discharged already. I'm glad that they're going to get discharged because that minus one patient for me haha.
I then went down to our department started charging and doing all the notes. I was just resting while waiting for lunch. Lunch came then we all ate. During lunchtime, I was thinking about what I'm going to do with our patient because he was for wheelchair rides. It's such a hassle to do it on the 4th floor because I'm coming from the basement and the elevator still doesn't work and I can't use all the ramps going to the 4th floor because the last ramp is blocked off because that's where the COVID ward is located. After lunch, I had to get ready again to treat patient 1. I had to bring the wheelchair from our department going to the fourth floor. I had to go up 6 ramps then go to the stairs and carry the wheelchair going up 2 flights of stairs. When I reached the room, I had to go down to the Emergency Room to borrow an oxygen tank from them. Went back up and treated our patient. At least my patient was helping during the transfers going to the wheelchair. After treating him, I had to bring back the oxygen tank. Go back up again and carry the wheelchair down. Everything was going okay already until I reached the last ramp because they closed it off. So I had to pass the stairs again carrying the wheelchair. It was really tiring to do this. I still don't understand why they are not fixing the elevator. It's been a month already.
After going down, I started disinfecting. I noticed that the linen basket was full so I decided to bring up the laundry to the linen room. I had to do it in 2 loads because the ramps going there are really steep. After that, I was just resting because I was really sweaty and I felt exhausted. Our secretary said that we have a new referral. I was thinking of what time the doctor will do the rounds. The rounds were done at around 4 pm and it was our cut-off time already. I was scared that was going to have to treat the patient but thankfully the doctor said to treat the patient tomorrow twice. I was so relieved when I heard that, so I was just filling up our COVID19 forms while waiting for it to hit 5 pm. It was really gloomy when we went out but I'm glad that it didn't rain before we reached the car.
I drove going home and had to drop off my colleague. When I reach our house, I went straight to the garden. I noticed that this rose was already starting to bloom because yesterday it was still a bud. You can see that the petals at the bottom got eaten. When I looked closely inside, there was a grasshopper.
When I got home, I disinfected. After doing that, I looked for food, and I was just eating and eating the whole time. I then slept for a while for about 2 hours before eating dinner again.
I continued reviewing and using my computer. I also spoke with my girlfriend. I'm really proud of her because she was able to finally land a job after getting rejected for how many times. I hope that you guys had a great day!
