Dancing is a universal language, two or more people can connect and communicate with just the movement of their bodies, the music sets the rhythm and your desire to move do the rest. That is why dance offers you the possibility to meet new people without the need to talk and to express yourself without the need to use words. Dancing develops creativity, when we allow our body to flow with the music, we make the brain work freely. We don't need language, we just need to feel and express it in a bodily way. Spontaneity and creativity open us up, allowing us to move forward on new paths and seek new solutions, the brain looks for alternative routes, testing and releasing some of its knots.

In that sense, dancing allows us to connect with ourselves, with our inner selves. By dancing we express feelings that may inhabit us unconsciously, or even release all that weighs inside us. Dancing gives us the opportunity to know ourselves through a new language. Connecting is not only for oneself, dancing brings us its social side and opens the door to meet new people. Dance unites people of all ages, dance allows two people from different countries to speak the same language and above all brings together people with totally different tastes, only united by music and rhythm. When you dance your mind is freed and allows you to forget your problems and focus on your feet.

At the same time, your brain releases dopamine and serotonin, substances that allow your mind to release stress and generate happiness. It is said that dancing could help improve body aches and pains, as well as headaches, backaches and some of the symptoms of depression. Dance allows us to unite body, mind and soul, improves connections and strengthens the self-esteem of those who practice it by improving the relationship with oneself and others. It also allows you to build more confidence with yourself and your fellow dancers. By challenging ourselves and testing our creativity on the dance floor, we open doors within ourselves that help us love ourselves a little more. Dancing is a way of making poetry with the body.

It is also said that dance is one of those arts in which only those who love themselves very much stand out. This makes a lot of sense, if we take into account that to be good dancers we have to know our body well, connect it with our deep emotions and allow them to express themselves through directed movements. A kind of happiness always operates in dance, even if there are dances that express a dramatic feeling. Dancing is also an act of freedom, in that it is a break with habitual movements and allows each person to turn his or her body into an artistic medium. Not everyone can be a professional dancer, but dancing is definitely within everyone's reach.

In conclusion, experts say that one hour of dancing is equivalent to two and a half hours of aerobic exercise. Like all exercise, dancing helps to release endorphins, channel adrenaline and reduce stress. As we begin to practice dance, we also begin to become aware of our bodies. In particular, stiffness and disconnections become evident. Dancing is an eminently social activity and, therefore, not only allows us to connect with ourselves, but also with others. In most cases, dancing requires us to adapt to the body and movements of another person. Without realizing it, this increases empathy and sociability. It is also an excellent antidote to shyness, especially during adolescence. Dancing is undoubtedly capturing the rhythm of life in our heart.

Dancing is not my forte either. And I would really like to learn more. I just read that dancing is also very good for burning calories, more so than exercising.
