You urgently need to designate a friend to whine about. :)
Of course, parenting is the best thing in the world, but it is also incredibly difficult. With all the wonderful moments, laughter and pleasure, the process of keeping little people alive for decades is also a brutal, exhausting, selfless and even thankless job. You can also be quite lonely - which can ultimately have negative consequences for your mental health - which is why your friends who are also parents and think similarly to you know exactly how they can be immensely useful to you. Well, someone finally came up with a term to describe such friends.

A "whining friend" is a person to whom you can complain about anything and everything related to raising children, be it trivial or huge. Not only is this person good for maintaining your common sense, but also the development of your child's brain - which is supported even by science.

A 2009 study found that talking about something solves stress and that it is a common mechanism for dealing with problems. However, be careful of this: if the person with whom you share your frustrations (such as a partner) does not show adequate understanding, this can further increase your stress level. So when you feel like youโ€™re going to explode choose wisely before you shake yourself.

So they point out that a friend you can whine about will make you feel less lonely. Sometimes all we want and need is for someone to listen to us. A certain person to whom we weep also fulfills this function.

It's also nice to have someone to give you advice - especially when we know they won't judge us. If you choose this friend carefully you will always feel that this person wants only the best for you. You will probably be more open to any advice it offers you or guide you through difficult situations.

Do you have a problem with empathy? A whining friend can help you with that as well. Listening to and supporting friends (because that's an important part of this concept - it's mutual) will help you put yourself in their situation. You can support them and be there for them the way you would want someone to do it to you. Both sides benefit from this mutual assistance.

There are other positive aspects of this relationship. The fact that your children are surrounded by significant and healthy friendships means that they will probably want to have such a relationship with someone in their life.

An additional completely unexpected benefit concerns the eventual baby you may have. Namely, this practice can improve the development of their brain. One study found that a circle of friends can help a new mother to be less stressed, which is positively related to the child's cognitive development. If you don't have an official whining partner, find one under the emergency! If you have, call him and tell him how much you appreciate him. However, they practically prevent you from going crazy.

I can relate to this,

"Of course, parenting is the best thing in the world, but it is also incredibly difficult."

I'm glad I have a whining friend and that is my husband. Parenting will suck the very best in you and still you need to be at your best and keep it until you can't keep it up. ๐Ÿ˜… Most of the time if I know no one could help me I just keep it to myself and let me, myself and I argue about it. ๐Ÿ˜

I have a friend - a godmother with whom I share everything beautiful and ugly. It's a lifelong friend, and we don't just need to whine about them, we need them to find them for both good and bad.
