The Paralyzed World
“Life is too short to waste.” The world is full of uncertainty. You will never know, the situation today may be different tomorrow. There might be unexpected things that will happen that we cannot control. Things that may change the life of everyone in just a glimpse of an eye. Who would expect that a microorganism, a virus to be exact can make this gigantic world paralyze? Almost a year ago our borders closed because of the COVID-19, there was a lockdown and we were required to just stay at home, I thought it’s just a simple action that will take for about a week. As the days passed by we were bombarded by the news about the virus, on how it is very dangerous that it can kill a lot of people. It only started from one country until it reached every nation around the world. That is why it is considered a pandemic, it is like there is an uncontrolled spread of virus everywhere. As a kid I don’t exactly understand what is happening, I was just happy that time because we were not required to go to school and take class. I’m happy because I have a lot of time to play, watch TV, use my phone and sleep. Until days became weeks, slowly, I absorbed and understand everything that is happening around me. Because of the articles and posts that I read in social media. I can play but only inside the house unlike before, I can watch but the shows are all about COVID, I can use my phone but for the purpose of online class, I can sleep for long time but with the fear inside me. I felt roller coaster of emotions. Especially when they told us that we will not have a graduation ceremony because of the fear of COVID, I was very excited for that time to come to finally close that chapter of my life formally and enter into a new one but it never happened. But I realized that they did it for the sole purpose of keeping us safe from the virus. When I processed everything that is happening I just started to see the positive side of the lockdown. I am able to spent time for my family. I help in cleaning the house, wash the dishes, wash our clothes and more. I always make my day productive by enjoying the things even I am inside the house and not allowed to go out. I started to always look forward for safeness and cleanliness. Because of COVID-19 I started to see the beauty of life and its importance. Let’s not make our temporary pause, into a permanent stop.
