A relative of mine called me earlier, asking for some advice. I felt frustrated when I heard the story: The granddaughter ran away from their home, it was not the first but was done countless times. Everytime she runs away the grandmother will come looking for her and took her home. Just like that no scolding or anything, fearing it will make the granddaughter more rebellious. The worst part is the granddaughter steals money from them, and it happened many times, just like before they do nothing, no scolding (no beating:)) When I asked the grandparents why they treat their granddaughter like that they answer “because she came from a broken family we don't want her to feel unloved”. That is nonsense I might say, don't instill in child's minds that coming from a broken family is ones lost or unloved by no one, instead, let them know the value of having you in their life. The love you have given to them is more than enough. And realize that they are luckier than those who have no one beside them.
