Hi Readers! 😇🙏 All of us here know that sometimes freezing of points for 1-3 hours is normal, right? But now I'm not confident about the freezing of my points from 6pm up to now 12:00mn 😣. I have a strong feeling that I committed a violation few hours ago. Let me tell why, I invited my cousin to join on this platfirm because I know that she can contribute good values here. But then her mobile internet was so slow. It takes 2-4 minutes to load the website. Cause I'm getting bored on waiting, I decided to connect her phone through my mobile hotspot. So now everything seems to be fine. Then, 💥BOOM! 💥 a quick flash came out on my mind that it is not allowed for 2 users to use 1 internet protocol address (IP Add) as i have read about the rules of Read.Cash. So I disconnect her on my hotspot while explaining her about this. So for almost 6 hours my points were frozen. Video Games Violence: Aggression in Young Adults
****Introduction****
Although the effects of media violence have been under thorough scrutiny for the past 4 decades, serious researches on the effects of video game violence did not start until 3 decades ago. At the same time, for the past 3 decades, the idea of leisure time has tremendously changed due to the advent of video games. While early generations of video games were simple games of shapes and colors, the introduction of Nintendo and Playstation in the market provided the public with more advanced, and unfortunately, more capacity for violent games with better graphics. Despite the ongoing controversy regarding video game violence, there is still no general consensus among experts on this matter. Studies on the effects of violent video games on young adults show varied results. Due to this, the paper aims to accumulate results across various empirical studies on exposure to violence, particularly in video games, to figure out a general view of the scope of effects and to recognize moderating variables and crucial patterns.
****Brief Background****
Several studies on video game violence (VGV) conducted in the U.S. show that exposure to VGV results in little to moderate effect on aggression and hostility (Konijn, Bijvank, & Bushman, 2007 and Swing, 2007). Furthermore, most of these studies state that the effect, if any, are only there for a short period of time (Cicchirillo & Chory-Assad, 2005). However, several critics expose the problems in such researches. For one, it is difficult to qualify and quantify the amount of violence shown in video games (Porter & Starcevic, 2007). A lot of these existing studies do not pay much attention to the measuring of the amount of violence on the video games included in the researches. Critics have also argued that the idea of aggression in most of these studies is not specific and not measured using standard criteria applicable in the real world. Also, even though most of these studies show that there is little to moderate impact on the aggressive and hostile behaviors of those exposed to VGVs, it is still a well-accepted fact that such VGVs are played by a large part of the society, and should thus require more concern (Cicchirillo & Chory-Assad, 2005).
Unlike the controversy on violence in the media, the existing researches by social scientists and other experts on the impact of VGVs is not nearly as powerful. Despite over 3 decades of studies, there is still no consensus among experts whether VGVs should really be a cause of concern not only among young kids, but also on adults (Porter & Starcevic, 2007). The results of researches that claim how little VGV impact is on behavior should look into matters such as the “Columbine High Shooting,” where Harris and Klebold played a VGV called “Doom,” and were reported as stating that the massacre they will do would be “just like Doom.”
****Summary of Recent Literature****
According to statistics, the video game industry has become a dominant player in the entertainment market and is currently a multibillion dollar industry. Growth rate in the employment in the video game industry increases at approximately 10 percent annually. This means that there is a continuous rise in the production and sales of video games, and consequently, VGVs. In fact, the video game industry has surpassed the growth of the music industry in th U.S., and has continued to grow despite the decline in the movie and music industries Konijn, Bijvank, & Bushman, 2007).
According to statistics from AC Neilsen, at least 1 video game console is in each of the 45 million households across the U.S. The average age of those who play video games has also reached age 34. Around 60 percent of these players have reported to play video games regularly, or even everyday. Amidst all these statistics, and despite the current belief that video games have little to moderate short-term effect on the behavior of the players, youth violence rate has increased over the years along with the increase in the consumption of video games. Furthermore, even though as of 2010, only around 5 percent of the produced new video games were given the “M” or “mature” rating, video games in this category account for over ¼ of the total sales of video games in that same year. The popularity of VGVs or video games with mature content is troubling because it is becoming the regular, common pastime not only among children and adolescents, but also among young adults (Murray et al., 2011).
Still, despite these numbers, experts do not agree on the idea that VGV indeed affect behavior. Some gathered studies conducted during past decade state that there is lack of scientific credibility in studies that show video games causing harmful effects on behavior (Radford, 2009). Also, another study state that gender, violence within the family, and trait aggression predict violent crimes more than exposure to VGV does, and that video games actually promote increase in visual memory recall (Ferguson, et al., 2008). It is also further stated that exposure to violent television shows predicted really aggressive opinions, as compared to exposure to VGVs that merely predicted very few aggressive opinions (Eyal, Metzger, Lingsweiler, Mahood, & Yao, 2006). Also, according to Williams & Skoric (2005), longitudinal study on the impact of VGV does not show rise in real-world violence.
Contrary to these studies, it is stated that males who identify with the characters in VVGs have increased aggressiveness (Konijn, Bijvank, & Bushman, 2007). Furthermore, another study reports that children and young adults are susceptible to heightened aggression even after merely a short exposure to VGV (Swing, 2007). It is also stated that VGV players are less courteous in real life (Cicchirillo & Chory-Assad, 2005). Also, according to Bartholow, Sestir, & Davis (2005), players of VGVs show desensitization to violence, thus increasing their own violent behavior.
However, it does not stop here. Lack of consensus among experts are shown in other studies that report neutral results. For example, it is said that aggressive behavior may be caused by playing VGVs or the trait aggression of the individual even prior to playing VGVs. Furthermore, it could also be a result of a combination of factors, thus making it unclear whether VGV actually causes increase in violent behaviors (Porter & Starcevic, 2007). Also, according to Bensley & VanEenwyk (2000), there is no consistent proof that aggression and hostility are affected by playing VGVs.
****Limitations and Significance****
The major limitations of this research are 1) the possibility of literature bias; 2) the lack of own experimental studies that can be conducted to compare and contrast with the results of the existing literature, and; 3) the lack of studies on whether other risk factors may be involved (i.e. violence inside the family, history of abuse, etc.). However, despite all that is lacking, is it still important to understand the various arguments involved around the impact of VGVs on aggression and violence. This is to be able to judge whether this matter should rally b a major cause of concern, or that issues surrounding it are merely caused by media hype and paranoia among parents and policymakers. Furthermore, it is also good to understand the differences of the effects of VGVs among kids and young adults, and what the reason for these differences are.
Considering the increasing popularity of video games among kids and young adults, more research really needs to be done regarding this issue. Despite the existing arguments that video games can have positive results among individuals, there are reports on the links of VGVs to real life crimes and assaults. On the other hand, despite the argument that VGVs really do impact aggressive behavior, the exact relationship between VGVs and aggression and hostility is still undetermined. In relationship to psychology and due to varying reports, the best way to go in this research is to determine why there is a difference in the effects of VGVs among kids to the effects among young adults. This could open an avenue towards understanding the differences in the psychological make-up of young kids and young adults that cause the differences in the effects of VGVs to their behaviors.

Family
A faction connected by blood relations and consanguinity is called family. Individuals in this group may be considered linked by adoption. According to one of the leading dictionaries serving the English-speaking world, Oxford English Dictionary describes the word family as "a group consisting of two parents and their children living together as a unit, all descendants of a common ancestor, or a group united by a significant shared characteristic" (Oxford University Press 2012). For many years, there are several television shows with family themes such as the Cosby Show, 7th Heaven, Eight is Enough, Family Ties, and Leave It To Beaver. Recently, the television show entitled Modern Family alters the definition of the traditional family as it featured same-sex partners.
The bond that links your true family is not one of blood, but of respect and joy in each other's life (Bach). A very complex quotation from an American writer who is respected by his writings and of his own right, his quotation may seem to raise an eyebrow for those people who are cynical and believed in one straight pattern alone; there is a saying that one does not need to be of the same blood nor even from the same race what is essential is that both parties know how to respect and accept the person as who, what and even where he came from. Family is not only about the same biological root, what is important is that one could learn, listen, accept and love one another.
Family means ties of every individual, carrying the tradition of their family making their ancestors living freely in the time and every moment of their lives and as soon as an individual does something to put an end in that tradition, then it is where their antecedent stops progressing and existing. There are even brotherhoods and sisterhoods that treat themselves as family and that generation from generation they try to relive what they have been thought for the reason that the tradition should be kept as long as they live and from this brotherhood alone they tend to look for a family within the organization and that family will have its extensions.
****Family Structure****
Nuclear family is otherwise called elementary family. It is comprised of the children and two adults. It is entirely different from the extended family. The Christian Post website had mentioned that based on the reports of a conventional Christian faction named Family Research Council, the "family structure matters for children, and the family structure that helps the most is a family headed by two biological parents in a low-conflict marriage; same-sex couples are not included in this definition-the 1996 Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) defines marriage as the union of a man and a woman for all purposes under federal law" (Sprigg). The Christian group created by psychologist and writer James Dobson suggested that dissolution of marriage and living in together of unmarried couples are highly deterred for the benefit of the children.
Pregnancy outside of the marriage is also not encouraged by the pro-family groups since children coming from non-elementary family or non-nuclear family might have learning disabilities, devoid of health insurance coverage, and showing improper behavior. Moreover, children might experience emotional turmoil or behavioral issues for half a year and they may also have dental problems because of inadequate funds to pay for consultation and prophylaxis cleaning. Also, these children might be characterized with poor health because of lack of money to purchase daily supplements, eat well-balanced diet, and see family physician for regular medical check-up. Overall, the research asserted that the nuclear family is highly recommended for the wellbeing of the spawns.
The framework of the nuclear family is essential to the establishment of corporations especially in European countries. "Relative to the kinship family structure, the nuclear family has both growth-enhancing and growth-retarding properties; it enhances flexibility in economic decision-making, kinship groups can better provide social safety nets than the nuclear family and reinforce a culture of self-governance (Greif 7).
****Family Culture****
Culture in the family is the structure wherein every member is subject to cultivate their way of thinking, the choices of color they make, the kind of education they want to finish and the kind of career they would want to obtain. Family culture defines the kind of person they are, what perceive to be in the planet and what they would want to share to their descendants. They say that it is in the culture one may predict the kind of future a person may have, the breed a family would stay for the rest of their lives.
Many family cultures are based in their ancestors credibility as a leader and so if it acceptable and workable then the family culture will remain as long as the family wants, however if one wishes not to follow the said culture there are certain misfortune for the person for instance; If a person is getting married through an agreement because in Chinese culture, they allow match-making marriages even the children have not yet been born. As long as both families agreed to it, there should be no problem in continuing the marriage; however there are several factors to perform before the marriage proper. Both families will check the birthdates of the couple to be able to determine the kind of life they will have, concubine is also part of their culture it was stated that the last concubine should be a teenager even if the man is already too old like ancient old.
In the United States, the typical culture in the family is that if a person reaches the age of 18 they will be viewed negatively if they still live with their parents, but as time goes by it is now passable if a person is still living with their family in their mid- twenties for the reason that the kind of living everybody has nowadays is truly difficult. "In the United States, after attaining a certain age, children even work hard to establish identities distinct from those of their parents, this kind of family tends to emphasize independence and individual autonomy" (Samovar and Porter 68).
In the Philippines, it is stated that the family is the basic component in the society and this is so true because there are Filipinos who cannot stand working in different parts of the world without feeling homesick. Some of them even give up their dream jobs just to be with their family again, some may even experience losing their state of sanity because of too much emotions of longing to be back home. Unlike in the other parts of the world wherein youngsters may even be studying and living with people they do not really know because they are being granted as an exchange student to be able to pursue their goals in attaining their degrees. In the Philippine tradition, it is just these past few years that parents are understanding the need to move out from their homes and rent an apartment or be in a dormitory to continue their studies.
****Beliefs****
Family morals and family values tends to be conservative, one would always follow the traditional way on how to go even for a very simple decision. It is also believed that different families that have different orientations in life may not be able to understand one another from those who did not undergo the same experience and they may have different approach when it comes to situations wherein logical thinking is necessary.
Among our family beliefs comprised of bestowing respect to every person regardless of economic status, educational attainment, gender preference, religious beliefs, and racial origin. From generation to generation, my ancestors have been teaching about understanding the individualities of every person and not comparing ourselves to the success and failures of other people, in this manner, we would not feel terrible about ourselves. In addition to this, showing high respect to elders is also among the important lessons in my family roots. Exhibiting deference is essential as the elders in the family have provided nurture and love for many years. They have strongly devoted their energy and effort in bringing out the best in us. Elderly people who are not linked to kinship should also be given respect.
