Hello everyone.๐ค Its another Saturday. Look how fast it was! Still we have a bad weather here in our place. Consecutively, we had heavy rains. It stops in a while, but then again it poured out. How about in your place?
I suppose to publish this blog yesterday but due to power outage and internet interruption, I didn't manage to make it.
Reading the title above, I bet you already have an idea of what I am going to share with you today. Christmas and New Year Celebrations were done, so what's next?
Most of us are fond of celebrations. Birthdays, Monthsaries, Anniversaries, whatever kind of special occasions it is, we really are fond of making it special may it a simple or grand kind of celebration. Gatherings are one of the best time for the family and friends to bond and have fun while being together.
When the calendar falls to January, mostly the people here in our barrio will talk about the upcoming Fiesta Celebrations may in a Sitio or Barangay near ours. Just last January 06, 2023 one of our neighbor Sitios celebrated its annual fiesta. This coming January 15, 2023 (tomorrow) will be the annual fiesta celebration of Sitio Kamorina followed by Sitio Patag happening on January 28, 2023. But the most awaited Fiesta Celebration will be this coming February 10-11, 2023 because its the annual Fiesta Celebration our Barrio.
The Barangay Officials are now, little by little, preparing for this upcoming event same goes with the Sangguniang Kabataan Officials, especially that they were the ones who will organize the Sports Tournaments, both Basketball and Volleyball. As expected, there will be an upcoming Volleyball Tournament for Men and Women, Basketball Tournament for Men Midget and Junior Division and I think, they will include the Forty-Uppers Division this year. Apart from that, the youth or the SK members are expected to take part on the barrio decorations, including the preparation of the chairs and tables to be use during the Disco. With regards to school-hosted events, as what I've heard, they will organize a "Bingo Game" where the proceeds will be for the school gym project and Dance and Amateur Singing Contest the night after the Fiesta Day.
On this day, I am expecting that there will be lots of visitors because my parents prepared for this. They raised one pig for this upcoming event. Proudly say, I contributed few amounts for us to pay for that pig. Hopefully it will grow big so that we can prepare lots of dishes later on. But I was kind of worried about the dishes to be wash off after. Lol. Well, I guess @Rhed will help me then. "Right Love?" Kidding aside. (โ โงโ โฝโ โฆโ )
What's on our Menu?
This part, I am really the one who will request most of the menus for this celebration. Apart from the pig meat, my papa will get some carabao meat too for the "Nilaga" and "Carabao Steak" if possible. An alternate one for the cow meat. So, I told my mama that she should make my all time favorite "Menudo" and "Bas-uy." Then I also requested her to make a dish out of pork that is cook with a cream like the last time. Other than that, I don't know what kind of dishes they will prepare for that day, hopefully there will some desserts too. Well, "tamang abang nalang ako" for that day.
Ending Thoughts:
Fiesta Celebration should not just about the food and the fun it may bring. It should also be about the experiences/memories together with the people that taking part in that once in a year event. Being with people from the different places and having a good times with them over a huge Feast is one of a kind experience. Hoping for a safe and sound Fiesta celebration to come soon.
