Learned helplessness: a life without expectations. Lately, I've heard and read articles describing how Venezuelans experience or have developed what some psychologists call "learned helplessness." It's based on the inability to "move forward" or escape a bad situation, no matter how many times you try, even when you're in control. Of course, I strongly identified with this idea. I've spent years trying to get ahead in my country, Venezuela, and no matter what I do, I haven't been able to create a stable source of income, even worsening my emotional state. Although, thinking about it, many people experiencing war or extreme poverty can go through this process or trauma. It's very sad to think that many people live their entire lives without any hope. But it's also very sad to be aware of it. Many of these people know no other life than the one they've grown up in and lived since childhood. Our lives, in particular, have deteriorated over the years, and I haven't been able to achieve many of the goals I had since I was a teenager. I couldn't graduate from university, then I wanted to be a chef to make ends meet, but I couldn't finish my culinary studies. My bakery failed, and now I'm here, struggling to survive with no hope of improving my life... feeling the passage of time, watching everything around me wither away. My mother, who is my only reason to get up and keep going, is going blind from cataracts, and it makes me feel so helpless that no matter what I do, it's not enough to give her a good quality of life in her old age. She gave me everything when I was a child; I was very privileged because of her. Now I'm ashamed that I can't do the same for her despite all my efforts. When I write, I do it to release some of my feelings and express things I don't talk about with my closest friends and family. And I'm also doing this to try and regain that hope and be able to dream again of building a better life for myself and my family. With Bitcoin Cash, I wanted to create a project to expand its reach in Spanish, also because I'm convinced that it's very difficult to get ahead in Venezuela, and that's why I'm looking for opportunities online. As of today, I don't have a computer; my laptop broke and I haven't been able to get it fixed or even find out if it can be repaired.
I'm looking for support to get ahead, to pay for my mother's cataract surgery and give her a better quality of life. I'm looking for support to regain hope for life. If you want to and can support me, I'm very grateful that you've read this post and gotten this far. Below is the article about my Bitcoin Cash project and its explanation.
