Here is another snippet from Novel Number 2: _____________________________________________ It was Valentine’s Day and I woke up alone. At first my senses were dulled, but as I opened my eyes and consciousness increased I was aware of the sound of somebody pottering around in the kitchen, but just as obviously they were being as quiet as possible. I rolled over to face the middle of the bed and as I guessed the space next to me was absent. Dominika was gone, leaving only a slightly uncovered and wrinkled sheet as a sign that she’d ever been there. I ran my hand across the cotton crevasses which were still warm. She’d got up, but not that long ago. I was snug and warm under the duvet and determined to stay there as long as I could. Maybe I should have gone and helped Dominika, but I had little doubt that she was planning a surprise breakfast for me and I didn’t want to risk stealing that pleasure from her. Call it laziness, call it what you want, but the end result is the joy she takes in treating me and why should I steal that from her. ________ Hope you enjoyed it
