Just wrote this in response to a post I saw and it is worth sharing wider For me the measure of knowing people has to be individual. we start grouping based on any compartmentalisation and we soon run into trouble. The moment we create us and them we run into conflict If you ever fined yourself saying I don't like him / her because he / she is <general description eg black, female, gay, old, young. foreign etc) stop and think. Some people out there are deeply unpleasant but measure them according to their individual qualities (or lack of) and not as part of a group / tribe
