So today I am going to talk about what in my mind is the best album ever written, but let me qualify As much as I think Stargazer is probably the greatest song ever written I skip Starstruck every time - it just annoys me and while I love Dio era Rainbow I could say the same about Long Live Rock n Roll (esp the title song) although it is more difficult to be picky on their debut (maybe Still I'm Sad because I prefer it with vocals - such as On Stage). Likewise with Dio - for example on the Last in Line I skip I Speed At NIght Sometimes I don't like songs that are just too predictable So preamble over, it may prove to be longer than the core of what I am sharing with you. I give you Operation Mindcrime From "I remember now" to me it represents musical perfection that all comes together with the epic Suite Sister Mary. Each track blends seamlessly into each other as the story unfolds. Never heard it? Find it now, but avoid the follow up - unimaginably called Operation Mindcrime II, apart from The Chase which pits Geoff Tate against Ronnie James Dio in a kind of musical duel. That is the only reason this album exists Stick to the original and be blown away like I was (and tbh still am) and indulge yourself in the concert available on DVD it goes up another level - especially the end of Eyes of a Stranger which reprises Revolution Calling Perfection
