So it's all happening here. MamaRah is feeling ill with flu like symptoms (almost certainly NOT Covid because we are still living pretty much a locked down life) so she went to have a bath. In the meantime BabyRah woke up peacefully from his nap and I was laying with him and I heard some exchange in Polish between MamaRah and her mother involving the word carrot (marchewka - but not pronounced how you'd think) and carrot was BabyRah's next new food to try. BabyRah was ready for a feed - so I assumed MamaRah had agreed to everything. So MamaRah's mother fed BabyRah with the carrot and when MamaRah got out of the bath she was livid. It was BabyRah's first time with carrot and MamaRah wanted to experience it and even film it as a memory. It was BabyRah's first "sweet" vegetable. A first time cannot be repeated and MamaRah feels cheated. TBH I get that because MamaRah's mother can be a bit pushy, MamaRah's mother didn't help by telling MamaRah to stop exaggerating - some of you may agree, but again everything is subjective so we can't judge how another feels. So she is in the doghouse. But so am I. It did strike me as strange at the time that MamaRah would have agreed, but I assumed (guys never assume with your woman - how many times have we done that and it is wrong) that MamaRah's mother was acting both with the best of intentions (which I am still sure of) and under MamaRah's specific instructions. And now to add to it for the second night running BabyRah isn't being very cooperative when ti comes to falling asleep. So far he is an hour over is usual bedtime. I am trying, MamaRah is struggling and MamaRah's mother is sulking. I am taking BabyRah as much as I can, but it's not easy when MamaRah is so angry that she's barely talking to me - this very much is a Polish way of (not) dealing with conflict and not just down to individual personalities - although that plays a part too. Seems i am the only steady head here.
