I have recently developed some new habits on Noise. Where and when I can I respond to messages of people I know (unless locked out in channel / chamber that i dont belong to) but recently when I have seen a message of somebody who I dont know and their post is relevant (they have read what I wrote) I now click on their profile to see whether they are a spammer - let's be honest it is our instinct - and if they seem to be a provider of good / original content I follow them even if their content isnt my thing necessarily

I do the same thing. I usually checked the profile first as well just to make sure. Because as I’ve read from one of noise admin accounts post, spammers also drag our account value if we interact with them in some way.

Yeah. Same here. When the comment is meaningful, it's the best comment you can possibly receive and give, it's an impulse for me to go to the person's profile. :)
which is fair enough because they have put the time and effort in to read and respond meaningfully
