So the answers to my last TRUE / FALSE They are basically all TRUE, but with the following exception. They all occurred when I was living in Kosovo after the war. 1) Completely TRUE. I took a walk there and armed just with a passport they let me. Subsequently they let me in whenever I needed / wanted even without a passport. It was a NATO base and yes i did get to look at their hardware which was a combination of Portuguese and Italian equipment 2) I did attend such meetings and frequently were informing UNHCR where the Macedonian refugees were and what they needed. It is one of many reasons that i am cynical about the work and the ethics behind the UN. However the original statement is FALSE because I never needed my passport to attend 3) Completely TRUE. We were sending a group of poor Kosovo children to the Albanian cost for a holiday / summer camp but they needed visas to cross the border (actually more to prove they were Kosovar when they came back) and I travelled to Prishtina to process the paperwork to be greeted by scenes that could be described as Kabul Airport but without the Taliban. Somehow I pushed through to the gate and demanded of the UN guards "Let me in I am English' Terribly arrogant but it worked. Once inside I saw an official and told him my requirements and showed him the 50 prepared papers I had, fully filled in. He set me up at a desk and gave me the stamp and told me I could sign the documents as the stamp authenticated them. So there we are 50 visas processed by me with no credentials (again not sure what it says about how robust the UN is!)
