Got a bit of time to work on my analysis now between training sessions but for now I want to go back to one of my posts from yesterday. I mentioned the true mirror - that person who is close enough to be direct and honest with no agenda but not so close that they are blinded by "wanting the best for you" This is all connected with a bigger concept called validation. Validation is the need to feel accepted or literally that you are "valid" All to often in the social media driven world people are looking for validation in the wrong places. 100 Likes but a negative comment can devastate young people. Trolling has become an issue in part because of the desire to find validation online where we present our lives as too perfect or too imperfect and when the trolls start we can't switch off because of FOMO. It becomes a self feeding and destructive cycle. Breaking the cycle isn't so easy but why do we empower those who don't care about us and then take to heart their views? So where does validation come from? Ultimately validation needs to come from within and everything I posted yesterday about confidence feeds into this. Don't let your feelings dictate your life. This is never to be something narcissistic - that's going too far. If for some this is hard to find we should seek validation from our true mirror and in this case our direct support networks - because in this case 'wanting the best" is fine because you... YES YOU... are valuable to them. Pls don't give people who don't care about you power over your sense of worth. #FamilyLife
