Just shared this is a response to another post about friendship. What do you think? Friendships sometimes take a strange course. Among my earliest friends two stand out. One seemed quite close and I went to his home for food sometimes and we played together at weekends but at school he dropped me and was frequently quite two faced when in front of his other friends. He'd then pick up at the weekends or in the evenings. The second was frequently disagreeable and we'd often fight (quite violently even at the age of 9), but we also had phases where we liked to hang out, play together and get up to all kinds of mischief. With him what I saw was what i got. He never went behind my back and while I don't advocate this if we had a problem (which was pretty often) we settled it in a fight which was soon forgotten and then we carried on. When I was growing up I thought the first lad was the better friend because we never fought, but a I got older I came to realise that it was the second one who was actually a good friend because at least it was always HONEST.
