You may remember my last post yesterday when I said I am from a place that once had the tallest building / man-made structure in the world and now I live in a place that held the same record. I am from Lincoln, UK and its Cathedral at some 159m was once the tallest building in the world thanks to the spire on its central tower. Sadly a storm put paid to the spire a few centuries ago and now at approximately 80m it is not even the tallest Cathedral in England nowadays. I live in Warsaw, Poland which once had the world's tallest man-made structure, a radio mast. I know a lot less about this than Lincoln, but it too was destroyed during a storm when during some maintenance work it was inadvertently weakened (while the work was designed to strengthen it). And there you go :D
