So here is the opening to the follow up novel to The Confession The Hard Road Back (Part II of the trilogy) Winter had evaded us. A Polish Christmas just isn’t Christmas without snow. It was a month later when the snow finally came in the form of a pristine blanket that I thought would usher in the long overdue winter, but just a day later it turned into torrential rain that churned up the snow into a disgusting grey slush before washing it away. Another day later the weather turned so unseasonably mild that it was hard to believe that winter had even visited us, however briefly. As much as I remember the weather it was what happened the day before the snow finally came that remains branded in my memory. It was a Monday, in fact the last Monday of January and as usual I’d gone to university and there was nothing remarkable about classes and no indication of what was to come. It wasn’t a good day, but it wasn’t a bad one either – it was just so ordinary and mundane. But that was about to change… Is there enough in there to grab you?
