So I know with my recent communications about writing I am piquing a lot of people's curiosity. So here is a rough outline, but I am holding some stuff back because it is definitely aimed at a very specific niche IT IS NOT FOR EVERYONE. What I am writing is a trilogy, the first novel has already been accepted at the publishers and I expect it to be available later in the year. The second part which I have been focusing on recently is about 75% complete and the third part has been started with the first couple of chapters that I put together from the character's development notes which have taken 5 years to date to do. The three novels in a nutshell are about the protagonist's journey into wholeness. The first novel deals with heartbreak and issues such as faithfulness in relationships. the nature of true love, but also the damage wrought by low self-esteem. self harming / suicide and other constructs such as the damage that empty religion and domineering parenting can cause. The second novel (from which this sample came) takes the protagonist further on her journey as she discovers the power of forgiveness through a distorted outworking of justice which blurs with revenge and again through an extreme journey which she has to take. The third novel with the love of a solid relationship as a foundation finally brings the protagonist into the realisation of the power of full forgiveness and the full implications of what that really means as she finally grasps what the foundational stone of forgiveness really is. And there you have it in a nutshell Seriously it is really not for everybody, but I enjoy the challenge of writing something that is racy, challenging and deep at the same time.

It all depends on what you call success. This is a difficult question and is not only related to momentary recognition. The publication of a finished work is already a success.
At this stage even acceptance is a success

Wow, this looks solid! well done so far, it feels the ages of invested energy in the plot... it is complex but simple enough to get involved trough the story. The main character has depth, interesting... I like it already! Personally I'm not fond of these stories, but as you Noised this... looks a well structured one, so I'm curious of your craft ... Oh, and double thanks for sharing your journey as you write as well! So enjoy, keep up and a lot of energy to the progress! >D
Thank you very much. Not for everybody and is quite racy (could say juicy), may offend some, but has depth and integrity (or so i'd like to think). You might want to think of the protagonist as a more screwed up Lisabeth Salander (millenium) with some 50 shades thrown in. She is however more complex than Salander and I have never read 50 shades nor seen the films.
I though about it ... I loved Stieg Larsson. Although I didn't read all of them. Salander is quite a character... so even that amount raise my interest... But I read that other shit as well. Quite early, when the hype was escalating, some lady friends was dazzled by the story, I thought - why not .... and actually that was the story which broke my interest in these kind of dramas (that's why I had absolutely non interest in even the news about the film )... so I think the place has huge potential now. I feel your story is capable to heal the lack what that >>50 shades of rushing words to a piece of paper kind of story<< left behind. Anyways... I'm looking forward, wishing you devotion, and just keep up! and don't forget to Noise in the meantime :) >D
Noise is always open and I dip in and out during the day. Yes I find the whole genre from a psychological perspective very interesting. I created 4 characters in my initial sketches and to be honest there is a little bit of me in each of them and I have never really made any comparison to Salander before. I only did so because she has become quite popularised. (incidentally I only read 2 out of the three because I got the impression from reviews that the third one was just a rehash as everything went to court). I had to create a fifth character, who has been a great deal of fun to work with and now there is a sixth but whether she has any literary merit has yet to be seen. I also chose the female memoir perspective as not to make the text appear misogynistic and personally I endorse #metoo with the common sense view that both males and females need to take greater personal responsibility. Some men are disgusting predators, but not all of us and to demonise us all is wrong, but at the same time while a girl has the right to have a drink, walk alone at night, and get recklessly drunk among other things, people need to recognise vulnerablity and apply common sense
Smart choices and intelligent approach! I agree with your view. Plus a successful, well made character has to be some element from ourselves. Sometimes they can function as petri dishes in a laboratory ... a great platform for our thoughts, issues and parts of our personas which we can pick up, isolate from our true self and make a full grown person, character, problem and solution from it... another great use of writing...
