Writing the final chapters of my sequel novel at the moment - sometimes it is easier to write the ending before the middle tbh. Here is a tiny sample. Do you like my style? ... As with all storms. my emotions finally subsided and I knew I was through the worst when I became more aware of her soggy shoulder than my own woes. She too must have sensed that the time was right and she changed her grip and took my shoulders. Firmly, but gently, she lifted me and I raised my head and looked into her eyes which were reddened and puffy, Had she too shed a tear or few for us? She’d never admit to that though and she was ready to move on. ‘So,’ she said placidly, ‘where do we go from here?’ It was the obvious question to ask, but just as equally it was a question that in that moment was impossible to answer. You don’t just come up with an action plan and put it into place.
