Here are the answers to my childhood injuries 1) It was school sports day and I was a Senior pupil and even House Captain (yes as in Harry Potter but without the magic) and a friend and I were asked to help out and one of the events was the high jump. Our job simply was to replace the bar when it got knocked off and to increase the height incrementally by a couple of centimetres or so as each round passed. So we were both sitting near the supporting posts. Each time one lad took his run up he was getting closer and closer to the post nearest me until I suddenly realised he was going to collide. I put my hands on the sides of my chair to move both it and myself out of the way, but too late. He hit the post and it came crashing down on my forehead. The post was an angled bar and it hit me full on with his weight too and it split my head leaving me with the need to go to hospital for seven stitches. I might be stretching slightly when I say "watching" but I was there as a non-participant so therefore I was watching. 2) I was playing volleyball (in the same place as the high jump incident) and I was at the back of the court. The ball came over at such a height that it was going to lob me and drop inside the court so I jumped up and stretched as far as I could to hit the ball back to my team mates and keep it in play. As I did so I lost my balance and as I came down I smashed my arm against the hard concrete floor and BROKE my wrist as a consequence. A sprain would have probably been less painful. 3) We were playing softball on the school field and I was one of the outfielders and basically I was sent to a place that was pretty much out of the way. I have many talents but fielding and especially catching isn’t one of them. Then suddenly the ball was coming my way. I cupped my hands to catch it and it hit my palms and bounced up and hit me on the nose resulting in in gush of bright red that has left me even to this day with a slightly bent nose (hence the break) and an inability to breathe through one side. So if you guessed 2 then you are right because my injury was worse than a sprain.

Yess! I was right ... and happy as well, my logic kinda worked.... but in these situations, I'm sorry for your broken wrist - Ouch! I wasn't thinking about that outcome... so double sorry for that! What sport memories over there! Great you left behind them, so they became adventures! >D Take Care!
lol my sports teacher dreaded me coming into the sports hall and watched me carefully in the field - esp when javelins were being thrown about! But it builds memories and scars are if nothing else educational. Take care and stay safe yourself.
