Reddit's Alexis to be replaced by a black candidate
Reddit's co-founder Alexis Ohanian announced today that he will be stepping down from the Reddit's board of directors and asked the board to replace him with a suitable black candidate. https://www.cnn.com/2020/06/05/tech/alexis-ohanian-reddit/index.html This is unprecedented and the right thing on so many levels. There is a HUGE diversity problem in the tech world which is generally dominated by White and Asian males and that space has a HUGE under representation of the black community where <1% of top tech workers are actually black so this is a great step that he has taken as a corporate social responsibility on his part to encourage diversity from his part. He is also married to the African American tennis super star Serena Williams and they have a daughter together. He wants to be a role model for his daughter and many other children around the world. I hope others follow in this regard and make way for more diversity not only in terms of African American but also Women, LGBT, Latino in the workplace. Well played, Alexis!

I commend Alexis understanding and maturity in nominating is interest in a black candidate replacing him. Kudos to him! He has shunned racism.
He set a great example for many white leaders around the world!
It's a great example to honour pf one's qualifications not to one's race . I think it will be a inspiring example for all the leaders. Thanks to inform us about that.
True
Race shouldn't be a factor when choosing someone for a tech job, but qualifications and availability.
I agree. But it's also important to provide opportunity to the under privileged. Definitely shouldn't be going overboard with it.
