Earthly dreams, earthly rubbish. Today when walking around I was looking at some rubbish along the way and thinking. All these things thrown away were somebody's dream. They wanted them so much, excited about the benefits from owning those items. Then their dream came true, they bought or received the coveted goods. And now... it's laying useless on the rubbish. And some day, our own earthly path will come to an end. Regardless of what we own, we can't stay on earth forever. Are we aware of it, when acquiring this stuff? The thought came into my mind: "Earthly dreams, earthly rubbish." And then another line: "Heavenly dreams, heavenly treasures." What would be "heavenly dreams"? Maybe not really a dream. Rather a preparation and expectancy for the eternal life in heaven. Learning how to let go of our earthly treasures, no matter how many or how little they are. Cultivating awareness that our ownership of things is limited in time, it's more of a stewardship. Learning to detach from what we possess. To not be possessed by our possessions. And when the moment comes, to have a light heart with no regret for what we are leaving behind here on earth. Have a wonderful weekend. [original content]
