The Fed cannot raise rates to fight inflation. Everyone would blow up. We had "the best economy ever" & couldn't get much over 2% without the world ending (Dec 2018). Govt debt-service would skyrocket. This is not Volcker's America. Everyone's in debt up to their eyeballs.
