LUNGERN, SWITZERLAND💙💙 Lake Lungern is a natural lake in Obwalden region of Switzerland that is named after the Lungern town located on its shore. The lake is drained by a river named Sarner Aa river, which flows into the Lake Lucerne, through the Sarnersee. Originally, the lake was much larger and had covered a large portion of the valley it is located in, but eventually, its level lowered. Starting in 1836, its level lowered by around 36 meters through a drainage tunnel. One of the best cycling or walking paths around the lake is the gentle circular route around it. One can even hire a bike from the station in Lungern for an amazing riding experience by the water body💙
