Yesterday we had a day of remembrance for Yegor Letov. In 2008, a musician I knew died, who had a great influence not only on my life but also on that of my generation. His poems and songs were philosophical reflections on life, on death, on freedom, on love. He inspired everyone to live life to the fullest and not to succumb to philistine inertia. When he died, he was 43 years old. I would like to show you one of his poems... Someone Else (author Yegor Letov) I am walking on the spring water In my beard the stars found quarters Yet in the river spring In the mirror dream Something else is being reflected Yet in mundane desires On the river ice Someone else is dragging a sled I am flying on my fast horse I am screaming the threatening songs Yet no echoing voice Only in response Someone is smiling in silence Yet in the pure blue In a lonely wood Someone else is smiling at me I am lying flat on the ground Looking up to somewhere in the clouds While the mushrooms grow And the gardens blow Something is approaching me While in a living grain One unknown day Someone else is wakening up Someone else is wakening up Someone else is wakening up
