In fact, knowing both myself and the world around me was something of a defining factor in my life, and anything that did not contribute to this was highly questionable. In fact, it would seem, it would be possible to calm down, life itself gives answers to any questions, and the meaning is founded in it, but this did not satisfy me, because by that time it was already clear, that there was God, Creator of Universe, Who created mankind for performance of some task known only to Him. What exactly this task was, everyone had to figure it out for himself, but living the way everyone else did seemed rather boring and uninteresting, especially considering the fact that most people didn't ask for any meaning at all.
