Summer is coming, but here in the UK it's wet and rainy today. 🌧️🌧️ Still nice to have a day off whatever the weather is doing. How is the weather in your part of the world?
Finally got my first 'Brave Rewards' and its now in my Gemini wallet, I gave up with 'Uphold' but this week they finally unlocked my account after 6 weeks! But too late, I donated my BAT to worthy creators rather than wait for Uphold. Gemini and 'Brave Beta' is the way forward for me, no need to reach a minimum 15 BAT before you can verify your wallet. 😊
Tech stocks are in the red, High inflation, must be said, Energy crisis, that as well, World war 3, who can tell, Nuclear button on standby, War makes me sad, cause many die, Lives cut short, many were young, A thing which cannot be undone, Will this whole thing escalate, The worlds in really quite a state 😢 Original poem by me picsandthoughts
Feeling very warm over here in the UK, the spring flowers are blooming and the sky is clear and blue. Summertime is arriving finally it seems. 😊🌿🌷🌼

Spam Email, they fake the sender field but if in doubt I check the full header! Not from Amazon!! Also I don't click the link, just go to the Amazon Website and login there instead, my account is not locked!!
The weather is warming up over here in the UK, I got out for a walk yesterday and found this quiet place to have a rest and chill for a while by an old mill, the sound of the flowing water is so relaxing. 🌿😊
Just finished my lastest article '2 weeks on my guitar' maybe you would like to check it out, I am really enjoying playing the guitar but I have some way to go yet to be an acomplished guitar player. 🤣🤣 https://read.cash/@onlymythoughts/2-weeks-on-my-guitar-398451f5
2 weeks on my guitar 4th May 2022 2 weeks ago I bought my first ever six string acoustic guitar. I have always wanted to learn the guitar and have tried a couple of times before, but my fingers hurt so much from holding down the frets that I gave up. I never have had my own guitar before but after visiting a friends house and having a little go of his guitar, I decided that I would buy one for myself. My guitar is by no means top of the range, its a 'Tanglewood' guitar, designed in the UK, handcrafted in China. I got it from a music shop and to me it sounds pretty good, I am just learning after all. I have added a picture of my 'Tanglewood' guitar below. I am very pleased with my purchase which for £99 has given me much enjoyment over the last 2 weeks. I have found an app to help me get my guitar in tune, and found some wonderful resources on YouTube to help me learn. I have played my guitar every day since I bought it and my left hand has built up some tough skin on the fingertips so it does not hurt so much to play now. I have learnt some of the most popular chords G, E minor, D, A and A minor, C and F and have tried learning a few of my favourite songs, many of which use these chords. I have found 'Marty Schwartz' beginners lessons very helpful, he makes the tutorial fun and easy to follow too. https://youtu.be/HNSaXAe8tyg Some of the first tunes I have tried to play are 'Knocking on heavens door' by Bob Dylan, 'Wonderwall' by Oasis and 'Country roads' by John Denver. I have a bit of a way to go on these songs but they are coming along nicely and I am really enjoying playing the guitar now. Years ago we didn't have 'YouTube' and guitar tuning apps, so if you wanted to learn you had to take private lessons and sometimes the lessons would not be enjoyable. Now I have my own guitar and some great online resources to help me learn I am determined to keep it up and learn more and more. If you are interested I have posted a few video tutorials which I found helpful for the 3 songs that I am learning below. **'Knocking on heavens door' by Bob Dylan tutorial video by Marty Schwartz.** https://youtu.be/mMnla7_Ipr4 This is the first song I learnt, it's not too diffucult, but I am still working on it. The second song I have been working on is 'Wonderwall' by Oasis, this version is slightly different from the record but still sounds good. **'Wonderwall' by Oasis tutorial video by Lee John Blackmore.** https://youtu.be/QIvr6VmZMY8 The final song is 'Country roads' by John Denver, I love this song and have always wanted to play it. I found this tutorial by very helpful. **'Country roads' by John Denver video tutorial by David Pots.** https://youtu.be/ThjbFUX0gHA I am so glad I have started enjoying my guitar playing, one day I hope to have many songs in my repertoire, maybe one day I could even write my own song! Thank you for reading, I hope you enjoyed this article, if you are interested you can check out some of my other articles here. https://read.cash/@onlymythoughts Article is my own Lead Image: Courtesy of Pixabay Article guitar picture: My Own Videos: YouTube
New single by Ed Sheeran and Antyilla a Ukranian band, some of this video was filmed on location in the ruins of bombed buildings in Ukraine, so sad, there are no winners from this conflict. 😢 Official video here: https://youtu.be/OJ2B4Fb7xQQ
Been playing my guitar for a week now, I learnt G, D, D minor, A, A minor C and F. There are loads of songs with these chords, I am just getting the hang of switching between then and getting a rhythm going. Working on this one now, an acoustic version of Guns and Roses - Don't Cry. Here is a tutorial below, classic song!! 🎶🎶 https://youtu.be/4ixd8lZ5sSI
Feeling tired after a long day at work, so just putting my feet up with a nice herbal tea. Day off tomorrow though, I need a rest and a chance to do a bit more practice on the guitar. 🎶🎶

Another fine day which I have spent writing my latest article on read.cash this morning. You can check it out if you wish here. https://read.cash/@onlymythoughts/suppressing-opinion-good-for-democracy-52fd4bf6 Just gonna cook some lunch then head outdoors to get some sunshine. 😊☀️🌿
Suppressing opinion, good for democracy? 21st April 2022 Elon Musk has caused quite a stir recently with his bid to buy Twitter. He has a huge following on the platform and recently posted a poll asking his followers if they thought that Twitter adhered to the principle of free speech, more than 70% of people who voted said no. https://tinyurl.com/musktwitterpoll Since then he has increased his stake as a shareholder of Twitter and launched an audacious bid to buy Twitter outright and transform it into a free speech platform. Musk has had one bid of $54.20 per share rejected but it looks like he is preparing to make another bid soon and has partnered with Morgan Stanley to raise more capital for a better offer possibly as soon as next week. You can read more about this here. https://tinyurl.com/musktwitterbid Twitter has de-platformed many people including of course the former president of the US, Donald Trump and many people who questioned the safety of the covid vaccines or the origin of the virus. This they say is in order to protect us from 'misinformation' and 'fake news' the question is though is this policy effective and are many Twitter users now self censoring, being careful about what they say for fear of becoming de-platformed themselves? Elon Musk himself has said many contraversial things on Twitter, but if he owned the platform himself he would not be at risk of being deplatformed. In my view allowing people to have a rigourous debate is better than trying to suppress free speech. Suppressing contraversial opinion does not solve anything, the issues are still there and if anything, removing content which is deemed to be 'fake news' or 'misnformation' can lead to more suspicion, because people think to themselves, 'what are they trying to hide' maybe it was removed not because it was 'misinformation' but because it was too close to the truth and didn't follow the current narrative? Democracy is all about freedom of speech and differences of opinion, even if we don't agree with someones opinion we should let people have a voice and express themselves freely, we may then challenge them, point out the flaws in their argument and so on, not just suppress these views and pretend that they don't exist. Historically, the demand for free speech has been at the heart of the fight for social justice. Social justice and free speech go hand in hand. Censorship is in fact a weapon wielded by the powerful to suppress social change and reform. Look at how information is suppressed in authoritarian regimes such as Russia and China for example. We need to have freedom of speech to be a true democracy. Harry S. Truman, the 33rd President of the United States stated the following in a special address to congress regarding internal security on 8th August 1950. "Once a government is committed to the principle of silencing the voice of opposition, it has only one way to go, and that is down the path of increasingly repressive measures, until it becomes a source of terror to all its citizens and creates a country where everyone lives in fear." Western governments are working hand in glove with big tech and social media to oppress us and control the narrative. Will Elon Musk be able to shake things up and give us a platform where we can freely question things without fear of being deplatformed. For sure many people will try to make things difficult for him, but we will soon see how all this will play out. Musk is an unconventional businessman, contraversial as well, no doubt that he is a genius though, I wonder if he might just get his way. Article is my own. Out and about this morning, fine weather again! I have a question I am pondering, I wonder what you think. Is censorship of 'alleged' misinformation or propaganda good or bad for democracy, or is freedom of speech more important.
This evenings sunset, a fine Easter Sunday and a beautiful end to the day watching the sun go down.
Happy Easter to all on here, how are you celebrating today? Maybe an easter egg hunt, have a great day whatever you are doing. 😊🌿🌷
Did my first 5k Park Run this morning since September, way off the pace but at least its a start, need to get back into running now the spring is here. A stroll round the park in the sunshine to wind down is nice too. 😊🌿🌷
Enjoying listening to this song this evening about two con artists who fall in love unexpectedly. A clever song indeed, I am not sure about Taylor Swifts new musical direction but this song is great. "Cowboy like me" is on Taylors album "Evermore" here is the "Clean" version, with one unnecessary expletive edited and changed. https://youtu.be/RqQVNVHrlyI
A couple of pictures to share from yesterday from my trip to Milton Keynes. Some fine weather for a change this Easter weekend. 😊🌷

Just ordered my virtual "Nexo" card, added it to Google Pay and I am good to go!! Been waiting a long time for this card to be released. 0% Apr plus 2% Cashback paid in Nexo Tokens too. 😊😊 https://nexo.io/blog/it-is-finally-here-the-nexo-card
A short afternoon stroll through the churchyard on a warm early spring afternoon, quite peaceful. 😊🌿🌷

Trying out this new app called 'Forest' its a study aid, or a good tool to keep you off your phone and help you focus. You set a timer, plant a tree and if you use your phone before the timer is up your tree will wither. You can grow your own forest, collect gems for different trees, compete against your friends, like a game really which helps you focus. Link is below if you want to have a look. https://www.forestapp.cc/
Having some afternoon tea at our friends home in London before heading home in the traffic. Had a nice little short break these last 2 days. 😊🍰🌼
