Expectations. Being rejected isn't what hurt us but the expectations we placed on others that they fall short of. It is not a crime to have expectations but we need to strike a balance and make it a realistic one too. As long as we are all humans, nothing is certain. It's perfectly okay to be rejected because not everyone would like you and that's a fact. You should be worried if everyone likes you anyway because it shows you have some insincere people in your fold or you are compromising who you are to make others accept you. Rejection doesn't hurt that much as I mentioned earlier but our expectations just as lying doesn't kill either but denial of the obvious. It's an insult to those we lied to because we are saying they are not as smart as we think for them to pick out the lies.
