2026: The year of Wars Doom and gloom While the start of new year brought with it an unprecedented occurrence, the US attack on Venezuela, which has been quoted as a dangerous precedent for other global powers to use military action against their targets. The precedence was already there, established when Russia attacked Ukraine in the Feb of 2022. The war in Ukraine <*Now I wanted to insert a joke here, it seemed like it would seem out of place instead of lighting the mood. Hence, decided to keep rest of this article somber*> When the war in Ukraine started it was a shock to the world has before that it was always assumed that major wars were a thing of the past in our diplomacy driven world. That illusion was shattered in an instant. **The World's Response** The response from the United Nations and countries of the world were lackluster, yes there were condemnation, sanctions and what not, but generally Russia was allowed to wage its war in the modern capitalist world were war was suppose to be a costly affair that wouldn't make economic sense for anyone. But the silence from Europe and the UN showed other countries that its ok to wage war again, if you have the might. Attack of Venezuela US attack was a shift and decisive and reaffirmed the notion that the strong can do what they please and the best others can do is issue some strong worded statements. US's Hit List There are others on US hit list and some obvious one are already in the news. 1 Greenland Greenland being the strategically located island that it is has became quite import with the melting of the artic. (***Another danger of global warming***) But unlike Venezuela, Greenland isn't a dictatorship or tied to any illegal activities like drug trade, and it is going to be very hard to convince anyone that the attacking force isn't the bad guys. 2 Iran Honestly, this one isn't too surprising and could actually be a much easier sell. Iran being an Islamic dictatorship with record of human rights violations does seems like a easier target to sell of the people and the world. With the massive protests taking place all over Iran over many day-to-day issues that the people are suffering under the regime, it could easily be conquered in the name of stabilizing the Middle East. Plus Iran has always been considered and enemy of the US. 3 Cuba, Columbia & Mexico These countries are already clubbed with drug trade & communism and are actually an easy target. US has already declared that it will take action against the drug cartels of Mexico. While, it is true that most of the nation is peaceful, there is a significant presence of drug cartels overpowering the law enforcement in these areas. The FIFA World Cup If you don't know then, the 2026 world cup (if it isn't postponed) is scheduled to be jointly hosted by Canada-US-Mexico. How it is going to be shaped in these turbulent times is anyone's guess. China to Invade Taiwan It is happening, that is for sure, the Chinese leadership has also given the 2027 target officially. And even when China has said that they are going to do it as well as given the time till when, ***The World is again going to act surprised and look on with nothing to do but tough talk and speeches****.* *The 3 Player Chess* Currently world is like a chess game played between 3 players USA - China - Russia and rest of the world is just watching. Making bets, scrambling to profit, some here and there. One of those is obviously The Defense sector, it is easy of sell weapons during a war than in peace times. But, no one knows what is going to happen exit. Could European Union united as a single country can wage there own wars. Could smaller wars in Asia and Africa spiral into something regional. Only time will tell.
