"Dalhalla" is one of the most amazing music stages in the world 🎤 It is located in an old limestone quarry in the middle of a forest in the Swedish province of Dalarna 🫶 🎠Opera singer Margareta Dallefors suggested that the quarry be turned into a concert venue. 🎻It turned out that the shape of the quarry (400 meters long, 175 meters wide and 55 meters deep) creates an almost complete absence of echo and soft acoustics, allowing classical music to be played without microphones. In addition, it already had the shape of an amphitheater, and the azure lake was supposedly created in order to play the role of the Rhine in the Ring of the Nibelung or the Nile in Hades. 🎺 The stage was opened in 1993. It received the name "Dalhalla", which combines the mythological Valhalla from Wagner's operas (it was on excerpts from the "Ring of the Nibelung" that the resulting scene was tested) and the name of the province of Dalarna, where it is located. 🎷 The concert season here is short - from June to September, but the repertoire is quite extensive - from operas to rock concerts. The venue can accommodate up to 6,000 spectators.
