African magic circles In the Namib Desert, you can see mysterious circular patches of land without vegetation. They are surrounded by a ring of dry grass and can be up to 15 m in diameter. The origin of these circles has long been debated. Some say that termites created them, others say that in this way plants compete for access to water. And local legends tell of a dragon living underground, whose breath breaks out to the surface, killing all life.
