🌿 When Asceticism Becomes a Matter of the Heart, Not Poverty of the Hand True asceticism is not abandoning the world completely, nor forbidding what Allah has made lawful. Rather, real asceticism is for the world to be in one’s hand, not in one’s heart. A person may possess wealth, status, and influence, yet his heart remains attached to Allah—he does not rejoice in a way that leads to arrogance, nor grieve in a way that distances him from his Lord. How many servants of Allah have been granted opportunities in this world, yet chose not to let them distract them from spreading knowledge, worshiping sincerely, or benefiting people. Their blessings became greater than wealth, and their impact more lasting than trade. One of the righteous predecessors said: “Asceticism is not forbidding what is lawful, nor wasting wealth, but rather trusting what is in Allah’s Hand more than what is in your own.” So let us examine our hearts: Do we seek the world as a means to obey Allah? Or has it become the ultimate goal that makes us forget the Hereafter? O Allah, place the world in our hands and not in our hearts, grant us contentment that enriches us, and a heart that clings to none but You. --- 🔖 Hashtags #Faith #Asceticism #PurificationOfTheSoul #Islam #Hereafter #SeekingKnowledge #Reminder #Spirituality #RemembranceOfAllah
