Shaheed Minar built in memory of the language martyrs ❤️ 🧍‍♂️ ❤️ The pillar you can see is called Shaheed Minar. There is a lot of history behind the construction of the pillar. Today I want to discuss that history with all my friends. Before the partition of Bangladesh, Pakistanis wanted to make Urdu their state language. At that time the name of Bangladesh was East Bengal. On 21 February 1952, a protest march was held in Dhaka demanding that Bengal be made the state language of East Bengal. 😍 🇧🇩 In that procession, the Pakistani aggressors fired indiscriminately on the Bengalis. Many people were killed and many others were injured in those shootings. Among them are Rafi, Shafiq, Barkat, Jabbar and many others who do not know their names. This was the first time in the world that life was given to language. ❤️ 😍 This was one of the worst incidents in West Pakistan. The people of East Bengal erupted in protest after many people were killed in the procession. Being compelled, West Pakistan made Bengali the state language. In 1999, UNESCO celebrated 21st February as the International Mother Language Day.
