Have you ever felt guilty for allowing your food to spoil, and then you were forced to throw it away?
However, there are some tricks that can help you prolong the life of your food.
1. Bananas
Wrap the banana pieces with plastic wrap where they join and they will be edible for at least three to five days longer than usual.
2. Onions
Onions packed in tights and separated by knots can last up to eight months.
3. Sour cream
If you turn a glass of sour cream upside down in your refrigerator, it will create a vacuum effect inside it, which will slow down the growth of bacteria that are responsible for spoiling food.
4. Milk
Do not leave milk in the refrigerator door, because the temperature in that part of the refrigerator fluctuates too much, which is why there is a risk that the milk will spoil.
5. Spicy herbs
For herbs, it is best to keep them in tightly closed plastic bags in the refrigerator. If they do not have a vacuum mechanism, close them with an eraser.
6. Med
If your honey is sugary, heat the water in a pan until it boils. Remove the pan from the heat and wait a few minutes for it to cool slightly. Put a jar of honey in the bowl and keep it there for at least 20 minutes. This way, your honey will become liquid again.
7. Ginger
Ginger will last you longer if it is stored in the freezer, not in the refrigerator, and you won't even have to wait for it to thaw to grate it.
8. Cucumbers
Cucumbers should not be stored in the refrigerator, but somewhere where there is not much moisture.
9. Potatoes
It is best for potatoes to be in a dark place. Exposure to light makes it turn green and shrink.
10. Celery
Wrap the celery stalks in aluminum foil and they will be fresh for at least a month. The same goes for broccoli and lettuce.
This is a very useful post, I didn’t know many things. Thank you for that
