Vintage idiots

We all have the impression that photos in idiotic places are a product of today, but we have such examples from how the camera was invented. At the turn of the 19 to 20 century, a pair of brothers named Ellsworth and Emergy Kolb set up a photography studio at the edge of the Grand Canyon — and stopped at nothing to get the shots they wanted: "The Kolbs dangled from ropes, clung to sheer cliff walls by their fingertips, climbed virtually inaccessible summits, ran seemingly impassable white-water rapids, all for the sake of a photo.
