How to choose the right wallet for storing cryptocurrencies

The moment we step into the world of cryptocurrencies, the first thing we need to explore well is the way we store them.Since cryptocurrencies are digital money, they are kept in digital wallets. The digital wallet itself consists of the number of the account that is public, and you deposit your cryptocurrencies into it. This account number is a combination of numbers and letters that can be uppercase and lowercase, and when depositing if you enter the number manually, ie a combination, you must pay attention to it. The other part of the crypto wallet is the private key that serves as protection and proof that the real owner wants to send the money from his account.
Depending on the platform on which the digital wallet is located, we can divide them into the following:

  • Desk top wallet

These wallets were created as a necessity when quite ordinary people who did not cope with Linux program commands joined the world of cryptocurrencies. Their characteristic is that it is a program that is installed on a computer. With a simple interface, it has met with very good acceptance among ordinary users. Its advantages are that the keys for the transaction are located on the user's computer and thus give him some security.
The desktop wallets themselves are as secure as your computer. If your computer is not accessible to strangers and if you regularly maintain a security system, this wallet is a very satisfactory solution.
Some of the most popular desk top wallets are:

  • Electrum

  • Exodus

  • Jaxx Liberty

  • Atomic Wallet

  • Paper wallets

Paper wallets can be said to be the safest wallets for storing your crypto coins. When it comes to these wallets, you create a wallet that has both an account number and a security key, provided that none of this information is in the digital world, but is in your possession on printed paper. The only drawback of such wallets is that when you want to send your coins you have to do it by sending the entire amount, because once the key is published it becomes public and no one can guarantee the safety of the rest of the coins on the wallet. These wallets are ideal for holders, and it is recommended that the paper on which everything is printed be kept in a well-closed box or even better laminated to prevent damage. If the paper is damaged or lost then you permanently lose your coins as well.Paper wallets can generate on bitaddress service

  • Mobile wallets

Advances in technology have led to the advent of mobile wallets. They are currently the most practical way you can keep your coins, and dispose of them within seconds. These are actually software applications that you simply install on your phone and that’s it. Of course, it is recommended that your transactions be protected by a 2FA system and a pin code.

  • Coinami

  • Jaxx

  • Exodus

  • Hardware wallets

Hardware wallets in devices used to store your coins. They are similar to USB drives in appearance. Their advantage is that they also dispose of coins very quickly and are resistant to viruses, so it is safe to connect them even to a computer that is infected. Protect transactions with a pin code that you type on the device itself.
Anyone who has a larger amount in crypto coins keeps them in a hardware or paper wallet.

  • Trezor

  • Ladger

  • HV.1

  • Web Wallet

Web wallets are fully open and with all their contents are on the cloud. You can access them from any computer. The interface is simple and easy to use. Their disadvantage is that your data can be obtained by anyone who accesses your computer, either as an uninvited guest or through a virus. Also in the past, there have been hacker intrusions on the web wallet servers themselves, during which some user accounts have been emptied. Anyone who opts for a web wallet must protect their account with 2FA protection and a pin code, for security reasons.

  • Block chain

  • Coinbase

  • XAPO

Stock exchanges and markets can also be included in web wallets. But these are the places where your coins are least safe. Whether it's a hacker attack or the stock market simply shutting down, if you're not trading your news, don't keep it on the stock market.

Jako lijep članak jer u današnjem svijetu hakiranja kripto valuta u novčanicima jako dobru pažnju treba obratiti na tehničku zaštitu tih novčanika od takvih napada.

I would love to try out these offline wallets for cryptocurrencies. Mislim da je Brane pisao kako koristi taj novčanik bez interneta. Nije mi baš jasno kako to funkcioniše.
