Crypto, Growth, and the Power of Taking One Step
When cryptocurrency first started in 2009, nobody knew it would become so big. A lot of people, especially from Generation X, thought it was a scam because they weren’t used to the internet world. But by 2017, crypto exploded in popularity. In Nigeria, it has become a lifesaver for many people, especially with the high inflation rate. On top of that, the fees charged by banks are crazy. Imagine putting money in a bank and then having to pay ATM fees, postal fees, and even transfer fees just to use your own money. Sometimes, even when you’ve paid all these fees, there’s no cash available in the bank, and you have to use POS services, which charge extra to access your own funds. Don’t get me wrong—crypto has its own fees too, especially with Bitcoin (BTC). But there are other options like Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum (ETH), and Solana, where you can store your crypto safely. More and more platforms are now paying in crypto. That’s growth, and that’s what I want to talk about today: growth. You might be asking, why use crypto as an example? Well, the creator of cryptocurrency, who goes by the name an anonymous user who goes by the"Satoshi Nakamoto," didn’t know how big it would get. It started with a simple idea and one step. Sometimes, that’s all it takes—just one step. Growth doesn’t come by waiting; it comes from taking action. You have to earn it Let’s talk about Elon Musk, the owner of X and the richest man in the world. His wealth today is because he took risks and made big moves. The same is true for Mark Zuckerberg, the co-founder of Facebook. He started Facebook in 2004 to help people connect and share information. Today, Facebook is one of the biggest social media platforms out there Now, let me share my own personal story. Two years ago, I was a secondary school student uncertain about my future. I wasn’t sure whether I would graduate, but I took action and worked hard towards my goal. Today, I’m studying pharmacy at the university. That’s my story of growth. As we enter 2025, let it be a year of growth for all of us. Take your ideas and put them to good use. You never know where a single step can take you.
