You need to fire a CTO.

One guy took the role from the start and has been given the opportunity to perform as CTO for the past 3 years. Although several people launched Bitcoin Cash that guy is the figure everyone recognizes and he often represents Bitcoin Cash alone. Prior to that, he was working in other unrelated technology companies but left. There can be many reasons for his decision to leave but the facts are that, as CTO in Bitcoin Cash, he is often in conflict with other developers. He may find them incompetente but they are highly regarded by the Bitcoin Cash community. The community constantly criticizes his decisions but he dismisses it as noise. While performing his role as CTO, the number of people that stopped working with him kept growing while the value of BCH kept falling. Now, this CTO wants a raise, the developers that criticize him to leave and hire fresh people. And he wants everyone else to pay for it or he will walk away. His message, without me the Bitcoin Cash network is destined for irrelevance.

On the other hand, you have this other guy. He was one of the people that participated in launch of Bitcoin Cash although he hardly ever gets credit. In part because he remained anonymous and avoided attracting attention. Still, he always participated respectfully in community forums showed balance and consideration in all his interactions. Now, after the main CTO made his threat, he reluctantly comes to the forefront with an alternative direction and vision. Naturally, he attracts most developers and community members. In a short span of time, he leads a collaboration that creates a competing node implementation, adopted by a significant portion of miners. Although he led this new effort there's a clear distinction in how he recognizes and values everyone contribution to it. The different is so distinct that funding campaigns are quickly completed with success. Something that has always been a problem under the current CTO. People really seem to like him.

Who would you fire?
